We grew up in the Bavarian Alps near the border to Austria and Switzerland where it can get rather cold in the wintertime which was the decision-maker 25 years ago to settle in Invercargill the south of New Zealand. After 7 years in Invercargill, we moved to Dunedin, followed by Whangarei and Auckland where Manfred Dirr, the head of ABS&D Ltd a German Master Heating Engineer (B.Eng EQR Level6), established and led successfully the Heating Department for Collins Plumbing. After 4 years he made the decision to move on and joined a Wellington-based piping company where he also established and managed the heating department.
Manfred has done several hundred heat load calculations including heat distribution designs over the last 35 years throughout New Zealand as well as Australia, Germany, and Austria. ABS&D Ltd is now located in the southern part of New Zealand again where heating matters the most and where we can give support hands-on with their customers in the region.
Our aim is to support and provide our clients with the best heating system designs available. With our vast knowledge in heating, we give technical contribution in their installations, problem-solving as well as installation supervision.
We do heating calculations and heating designs for various other customers including architects, installers, builders, and end-user/homeowners throughout the country.
